Rhapis Excelsa – Lady Finger Palm – Bamboo Palm
Lady Finger Palm (Rhapis Excelsa) is a great air purifier, Low maintenance indoor house plant with fan-like fronds that are shiny and glossy green leaves.
Lady palms come from China and are some of the easiest palms to grow. Also known as Rhapis excelsa, these palms first came to prominence as a feature in Japanese palaces, only then spreading through to Europe and America in the 1770s and 1850s, respectively. Lady Finger Palm (Rhapis Excelsa) is a small palm species that grows in dense clumps of slender upright green stems. On the stems are fan-shaped, glossy green fronds that each has between five and eight narrow, lance-shaped segments. Because this palm is extremely tolerant of low-light conditions, it’s popular to grow indoors as a houseplant. It’s best planted in the spring at the start of the growing season, though houseplants generally can be started year-round. This palm has a fairly slow growth rate, gaining less than a foot in height per year.
