Site Selection

Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Jungle Jalebi is adaptable to various soil types but thrives in sandy or loamy soils. Ensure the site has enough space for the tree to grow to its full size.

Planting Steps

  1. Soil Preparation: Prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of about 12 inches and mixing in organic matter if needed.
  2. Planting Depth: Dig a hole that is twice the width and depth of the root ball.
  3. Spacing: Space the trees at least 20-30 feet apart to allow for adequate growth.
  4. Planting: Place the tree in the hole, ensuring the root collar is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil and gently firm it around the base.
  5. Watering: Water thoroughly after planting to help establish the roots.

Care and Maintenance

Watering: Water young trees regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, Jungle Jalebi is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings.

Fertilization: Feed the tree with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season to promote healthy growth and fruit production. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of fruiting.

Pruning: Prune Jungle Jalebi to maintain its shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Regular pruning encourages healthy growth and improves air circulation within the canopy.

Pests and Diseases: It is relatively pest and disease-resistant. However, it can be susceptible to pests such as aphids, scale insects, and caterpillars. Inspect the tree regularly and treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if necessary.
