Rhaphidophora tetrasperma, the mini monstera, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, genus Rhaphidophora. It is native to Southern Thailand and to Malaysia.

According to the International Aroid Society, Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is considered rare in nature. The good thing about the plant, multiple and is easy to grow! It is native to limited areas in southern Thailand and parts of Malaysia and was discovered in the late 1800s

It’s difficult to find but so simple to maintain this vining, climbing, and sprawling Mini Monstera!  This houseplant is adaptable to most indoor environments and can be trained to grow up a trellis–or encouraged to cascade over the sides of a shelf or hanging basket! Rhaphidophora tetrasperma will add the look and feel of a full-fledged Monstera deliciosa, without taking up precious interior real estate.

Ginny philodendron, mini monstera, mini split-leaf… Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is known by many different names and is currently in the spotlight, having its moment in the sun as the “it” plant trending on social media with its peek-a-boo leaves.
