So here is the list of some of the plant, they are tolerant to dim sunlight and don’t need any special attention, you just need to sprinkle some water in a week or whenever you feel like that upper layer of soil gets dry. Caring for these plants is very straight forward, so let’s get started.

Sanseveria cylindrica:

It is also known as a cylindrical snake plant and its shape is similar to star half embedded in the soil. They are up to 3 cm diameter and can grow up to 2m above the soil. It can tolerant of low light and irregular watering, it is one of  NASA’s recommended plants that purify the air and removes harmful chemicals. It is one of the few plants which also removes carbon dioxide and produces oxygen during the night.

 

Echeveria Black Prince (Vishnu Kamal):

It is an evergreen succulent, it can grow 3 inches across packed with fleshy, pointed, nearly black leaves that surround a glowing green centre. In winter, it sends up leafy stems topped with remarkable clusters of little flowers. Leaves will first be green and darkens as they mature. Dark red flowers appear on short stalks in early winter. This plant looks fascinating.

 

Syngonium mini:

It is an indoor ornamental miniature plant, featuring heart-shaped leaves with silver-green variegation. It is easy to care for plant that is well adapted to the indoor environment. As a young plant its leaves grow as a heart-shaped, then gradually becomes arrow-head shaped as it matures. Its dark green leaves have silvery white, green, or pink cream variegation, making this a decorative and popular house plant. They do not like exposure to direct sunlight.

 

Scouring rush Horsetail:

Also known as rough horsetail, in south Africa generally recognized as a snake grass. It looks like bamboo, but the stems are skinny like tall grass. They can grow up to 4 inches to 3 feet.

 

Snake plant:

Snake plant is one of the most popular and hardy species of household plants. These species have a wide variety. Snake plant care is very straight forward. They can survive low light levels and drought.NASA’s research has even shown that the snake plants can keep the air inside your house clean, removing toxins such as formaldehyde, and benzene. In short, they are the perfect household plant.

There are around 70 different species of snake plants. They are all evergreen and can grow anywhere from 8 inches to 12 feet high.

Some of the varieties which are my favourite are:

Sansevieria ‘Golden Hahnii’-

 

This species has short leaves with yellow borders.

 

Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Golden’-

Its leaves have dark green centres that are surrounded by yellow to gold edges.

Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Futura Robusta’-

Dwarf Snake Plant Red Pot

This is the shortest variety. The leaves are silvery-green with the dark green stripe.

Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Futura Superba’-

Futura Superba snake plant looks just like the smaller version of the black gold type but it has wider leaves and is short in height.

 Snake plants are very easy to care for plants and look so attractive makes them a perfect indoor plant.
